Tips for fishing from a kayak

Tip # 1

When bringing in your line to re-bait the hook or change lures, do not lean over to grab the line.  Instead leave enough line out so you can swing the hook or lure to yourself without having to lean over.  When you reel the line in to far you can't reach the end of the line where your hook or lure is and you have a tendency to lean over to grab it.  In doing this there is a possibility that you will fall out of the kayak.  So, sit back and bring the end of the line to you, leave more line out than you normally would if you were fishing from a boat or from shore.
